Pastor Chris Okafor Cries Out Over Leaked Remarriage Plan

Founder of the Mountain of Liberation and Miracle Ministry, Pastor Chris Okafor, has spoken out over the alleged leak of his remarriage plans, describing the incident as a major violation of his privacy that fueled widespread online attacks and misinformation.

Addressing journalists in Lagos, the televangelist expressed deep frustration with bloggers and social media influencers whom he accused of spreading unverified claims about his personal life.

According to him, the situation worsened after a wedding planner allegedly disclosed private details of his remarriage intentions without consent.

Pastor Okafor said the leak opened the floodgates for cyberbullying, with many online commentators drawing conclusions without seeking facts or giving him an opportunity to respond.

He described the experience as painful and damaging, noting that false narratives often gain rapid traction online.

The controversy follows earlier allegations by Nollywood actress Doris Ogala, who had claimed to be in a long-term relationship with the cleric and accused him of failing to fulfill a promise of marriage.

She also made other serious accusations, which Okafor has repeatedly denied.
Reacting to the public backlash, the pastor lamented what he described as a culture of misinformation driven by the quest for online traffic.

He warned that many innocent people have suffered reputational damage due to unchecked digital falsehoods.

He called on the National Assembly to introduce stricter laws to regulate online activities and protect citizens from cyber abuse.

Okafor also urged relevant cybercrime agencies to intensify efforts in tracking and prosecuting individuals who spread false and defamatory content.

According to him, safeguarding Nigeria’s digital space is essential to prevent lives and reputations from being destroyed by unverified online reports.
