Police Arrest Two Women Over Alleged Trafficking of 16-Year-Old Girl to Ghanaian

The police have arrested two women over the alleged trafficking of a 16-year-old girl to Ghana in what authorities describe as a case of cross-border child exploitation.

According to police sources, the suspects were apprehended following intelligence reports that led operatives to uncover the movement of the teenager from Nigeria to Ghana under false pretences.

Investigations revealed that the victim was allegedly deceived with promises of employment and better living conditions before being taken out of the country without the consent of her parents or legal guardians.

Preliminary findings indicate that the suspects are believed to be part of a wider trafficking network that targets vulnerable minors, particularly young girls, for exploitation across borders.

The victim has since been rescued and placed under protective care, where she is receiving support and counseling.
