Body of 15-Year-Old Girl Found in Gombe Bush

The Gombe State Police Command has confirmed the killing of a 15-year-old girl, Aisha Abubakar, whose body was found in a bush on the outskirts of Kwami Local Government Area of the state.

The incident was reported to the police around 12:00 noon on Tuesday by the victim’s father, Malam Abubakar, who alleged that his daughter was a victim of culpable homicide.

In a statement issued on Tuesday, the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Buhari Abdullahi, said the girl was sent out to buy soya beans on Sunday, January 26, 2026, at about 5:40 p.m., but did not return home.

“She was sent to buy soya beans on 26/01/2026 at about 1740hrs and failed to return,” the statement said.

According to the police spokesperson, Aisha’s lifeless body was later discovered on Tuesday in a bush at the outskirts of the village.

“Unfortunately, her body was discovered in a bush on the outskirts of the village today,” Abdullahi stated.

He said detectives immediately visited the scene, where photographs were taken as part of the investigation, adding that preliminary observations suggested the victim may have been subjected to violence.

The corpse was subsequently evacuated to a hospital for medical examination to determine the exact cause of death.

Abdullahi assured the public that investigations have commenced and that efforts are ongoing to identify and arrest those responsible for the crime.
