
Operatives of the Delta State Police Command have arrested a 28-year-old suspected internet fraudster for allegedly killing his friend following a disagreement over a $1,000 transaction.
The Police Public Relations Officer, Mr Bright Edafe, who confirmed the incident, said it occurred on January 21, 2026, at Agbarho community in Ughelli North Local Government Area of the state.
Edafe disclosed that the suspect, identified as Oghenegare, and the deceased, Mr Courage, were both involved in internet fraud when an argument broke out between them over the transaction.

According to him, the disagreement escalated into a physical confrontation during which the suspect allegedly struck the victim on the head, leading to his death.
The police spokesperson expressed concern over the rising cases of murder in the state, attributing them to hot temper, drug abuse and conflicts that could have been resolved peacefully.
Meanwhile, in a video currently in circulation, the suspect admitted that the deceased was his childhood friend, alleging that he was “logged out” of the transaction process, which sparked the fatal dispute.
