Rescuers have recovered the bodies of all 10 people aboard a chartered turboprop plane that crashed into Mount Bulusaraung in Sulawesi over the weekend.
The aircraft, chartered by Indonesia’s Fisheries Ministry, was carrying seven crew members and three civil servants when it lost contact with air traffic control on Saturday while en route from Yogyakarta to Makassar.
Search teams initially recovered eight bodies as they combed the mountain’s steep slopes, which were made difficult by harsh weather and challenging terrain.

The final two bodies were located on Friday and retrieved, officials said.
Debris from the aircraft, including sections of the fuselage, tail, and windows, was found near the mountaintop shortly after the crash.
Authorities also recovered the plane’s black box on Wednesday, which could provide critical information about the cause of the accident.
Indonesia relies heavily on air travel to connect its thousands of islands, but the country has faced several aviation disasters in recent years, including helicopter crashes in South Kalimantan and Papua in September 2025.
The incident marks another tragic chapter in Indonesia’s ongoing aviation safety challenges.
