Anu’s Mother Accuses Adeleke Family of Intimidation, Abuse of Power

The mother of Anu, the 12-year-old girl at the centre of a long-running paternity controversy involving Afrobeats star Davido, has accused the Adeleke family of intimidation, manipulation and abuse of influence.

In a strongly worded statement issued on Wednesday, the woman dismissed claims by Davido’s family that multiple DNA tests were conducted in 2020 to determine the child’s paternity, insisting that neither she nor her daughter participated in any additional tests after the initial process.

She expressed shock over revelations that her sister, Titilayo Labinjoh, had allegedly been in contact with Davido’s father, Dr. Adedeji Adeleke, since the COVID-19 period, questioning the nature and purpose of such communication.

According to her, Titilayo recently called their mother from Abuja, expressing fear over renewed media attention surrounding the controversy and pressure from colleagues at her workplace.

She said while her family advised her sister to ignore the situation, Anu continues to bear the emotional impact of the dispute.

The woman also denied allegations that her sister collected money from the Adeleke family or worked against her interests, describing such claims as hurtful and untrue.

Reacting to accusations that she collaborated with controversial blogger Kemi Olunloyo to push the narrative, she clarified that Olunloyo initially opened a social media page for Anu in 2019 after publicly supporting the family during an earlier appeal.

She maintained that she was not active on social media for several years and only resumed posting in 2023 during her daughter’s 10th birthday.

She further explained that Anu currently lives with her grandmother, while she resides outside Ibadan due to the demands of her trading business, which requires frequent travel to border areas.

In a direct message to Dr. Adeleke, she accused him of speaking on behalf of his son and using wealth and influence to intimidate her family.
“You should not be speaking for David.

Let him address me directly,” she said, warning that any harm to herself, her daughter or her mother should be investigated by the police.

She also firmly denied any suggestion of a link between Anu and Davido’s cousin, B-Red, stating that she had not seen him since 2013 and that her daughter had never met him.

The latest development comes barely 24 hours after Dr. Adeleke publicly stated that the family conducted multiple DNA tests to resolve the paternity claims.

The mother, however, challenged the family to provide evidence of such tests, maintaining that the allegations remain false.

The paternity dispute has continued to generate widespread public attention, with both sides maintaining opposing positions as the controversy deepens.
