Hilda Baci Makes History as Three-Time Guinness World Record Holder

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has added another milestone to her illustrious career after being confirmed as a three-time Guinness World Record holder.

Baci announced the achievement after receiving official confirmation that her September 2025 cooking feat earned her an additional world record.

While she had already been recognised for preparing the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, Guinness World Records later verified that the same effort also qualified as the largest serving of rice overall.

Sharing her excitement on social media, the chef described the recognition as both shocking and thrilling, noting that she only discovered the additional record several months after the initial announcement.

According to her, what was first celebrated as a single record unexpectedly turned into two separate titles achieved on the same day.

The record-breaking event took place in Lagos, where Baci and her team prepared more than 8,700 kilograms of jollof rice, setting a new global benchmark for the popular dish. This latest accomplishment brings her total Guinness World Records to three.

Her first Guinness World Record was set in May 2023, when she completed a 93-hour, 11-minute cooking marathon, making her one of Nigeria’s most accomplished chefs on the global stage.

Baci credited her team and faith for the success, describing the achievement as a collective victory. She added that the recognition further showcases the richness and global appeal of Nigerian cuisine.

The latest honour cements Hilda Baci’s status as a trailblazer in the culinary world and a leading ambassador of Nigerian food internationally.
