Annie Idibia has addressed public assumptions about her family life, stating that she does not consider herself a single mother despite being estranged from her husband, 2Baba.
In a post shared on her Instagram page on Monday, the Nollywood actress clarified that while she is a single woman raising two children, she does not identify with the label of “single mum.” According to her, her children do not require her to be married but to be authentic, fulfilled, and emotionally present.
Reflecting on motherhood and personal growth, Annie reposted a message from Instagram user #katyeneff, described as a “Feminine Magnetism & Aliveness Activator,” echoing the sentiment that her journey is about personal freedom and truth rather than marital status.

“I’m not a single Mom. I’m a single woman raising two kids,” she wrote. “My children don’t need me married. They need me alive. They need me true. They need me free.”
She further explained that her path is not about “doing it alone,” but about creating a legacy and challenging societal expectations that pressure women to remain “small, silent or suffering ‘for the kids.’”
Describing herself as “a woman rising,” Annie said her personal growth directly impacts her children’s well-being. “My peace brings them peace. My joy brings them joy. My radiance creates their safety,” she stated, adding that allowing her children to witness her rebuild her life with joy rather than bitterness is the greatest gift she can offer them.
